2001 made a reality out of what has been a dream of mine for many years now! I have dreamed of racing sport bikes ever since I laid eyes on Honda's CBR600F2 and started watching racers like Mich Doohan, Wayne Rainey and, Kevin Shwantz duke it out on TV. I settled with a Honda VF500 Interceptor as my first street bike and from day one I knew I had found something that would inspire me forever. Growing up in Montana definatly put a damper on getting to a race track so like many others I took my chances on public roads. Perfecting my high speed craft above all the legal limits of public domain sometimes had a high price. Run-ins with the local law enforcment were all too frequent and very costly. Close calls were all too common as well. Yet even after a nearly life ending accident all I could think about was riding...Fast. I knew I needed to be on a track so after getting school out of the way I moved to Portland, OR because of OMRRA and PIR. After years of struggling to make this expensive sport a reallity, everything finally fell into place in May of 2000. The reports that follow are my experiences with racing. I hope you enjoy them.
