More to come at a later date!

I haven't had a lot of time to get around to writing detailed reports so I am going to give a brief recount of what happened. I will add more at a later date.

No Saturday practice so Sunday was going to be busy. When I woke in the morning Melissa was sick from food poisoning which meant that it was just me today. I loaded the remaing things into the truck and made it to the track right at 7 AM. I found a good pit spot and unloaded the truck and set up the pit. First order of business was to get the new rubber mounted. Even though I was the 3rd person in line for tire changes I didn't get them back and mounted until after the 2nd practice session was already underway. I had to push start the bike thanks to a dead battery and then the last session was red flagged as I was pulling up to the grid. GREAT! No laps to scrub in new tires before the 4 lap qualifiers. I hadn't even ridden in over a month and a half.

600SS qualifying

I was gridded in back and since the tires weren't srcubbed in I took it easy and managed a mid pack grid.

750SS qualifying

Tires scrubbed in and feeling good! Started at back of grid but first into turn 1! Huge slide in 3 but kept lead until coming across start finish with a red flag waving. DAMN. Restart. Good start into turn 1 in 2nd place and slip to 3rd on back straight. Still in 3rd until I low side out of turn 3. Smack hand pretty good and break up bike a bit.

Open SS qualifying

Bike broke and still on inside of track with injured right hand. I missed it.

I spent the rest of the day putting the bike back together not even sure if my hand would allow me to ride. After lunch I had everything back together so decided to hop on the bike and give it a go in the hot pits. Everything seemed to work fine so I decided to race and just see how it felt. Started the 600SS race and finished 4th! Same with 750SS! Hand didn't bother me too much until I took the glove off and the adrenaline went away. Despite crashing it was a good day and a decent end to my first year racing. I'll be back next year!
